Hi,
I have to agree with udo1, You're trying to do too much. Moving around Sri lanka is slow which ever method you use.
Imagine the first day,
Land at Katunayake airport. At 7.15 am...... It will probably take an hour to get off the plane and clear customs and immigration. That gets to 8.15.... The shuttle bus goes when it's got enough passengers,l maybe a 15 minute wait ,, then the ride to Katunayake bus stand, maybe wait 20 minutes or so for the Kandy bus. Assume roughly 9.00 am.
Three hours journey probably arrive Kandy about 12 mid day.
Book into a guest house , maybe some refreshments, get a tuk tuk and arrive at the Botanic gardens about 2 .pm.
A stroll around the gardens can easily take three hours, and much longer if you enjoy the place as I do.
That leaves the evening to visit the temple of the tooth. I reckon evening is best time there anyway.
Day two fine.
Day three, again I agree with udo1,
To get to Sinharaja from Kandy, you go through the hill country.
If you started early, you'd possibly get to Sinharaja and manage a short walk in the rain forest but you'd need a driver who was willing to work very long hours to get back to Negombo that night. That would cost more than a normal days hire.
I reckon the original itinery I posted would be much more feasible.
If you do spend time in Negombo,

Try that place for an ayurvedic spa. I picked up their adver4tising sheet when I was last in ther, back in Feb/March and the prices listed then were the same as this web site. May have changed a little since then but not by too much. They are excellent.
