Hi, I am planning a solo trip to Sri Lanka soon (female, 49 ys, experience traveler) and I am interested in culture and nature (hills) more than beaches.
Therefore - I would like to see Anuradhpura as well and do some hiking + 1 day (at least) safari (visit to National park to see leopards, elephants).

I was thinking to go from Colombo to Anuradhpura by train. Thus it make a sense?
From Anuradhpura to the south again - Dambulla - Kandy - Haputale - ??

How many days (nights) would you recommend for each place?
I read that from Haputale I can reach Ella easily - should I move south to Tissa for Uda / Yala

I night (max 2 days for beaches south) - where?

Your advises are valuable for me, so pls go ahead - many many thx, Djurdjica.

Don’t forget about medical insurance before you travel to Sri-Lanka. You can get a short stay visa online. Sri Lanka might be known for its beaches and tea plantations. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with good culture with great hospitality. I can definitely recommend Mirissa Beach.

Hi! I can recommend you to stay in Tangelle at the beach and it is very easy to go from Ella! Tangalle is a perfect place, nice atmosphere, nice bars and restaurants, good beach, many things to see around and you can do many day trips! I visited Sri Lanka just a month ago and Tangalle is my favourite place! If you need a good tuk tuk drive call this guy Shan and he will show you best places around: 0094717948956 or check his facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sandaru.edirisooriya
and enjoy tangalle ;)
