Hi

I'll be in Sri Lanka for nearly three weeks

I will need around 2GB or more of data, will make a just a few national calls and texts and I'd like a network with good coverage as I will be out in the countryside as well as in cities

Can anyone recommend a good network to get buy a SIM card from?

Your help is appreciated

I am from UK and my network 3 allows use of at home allowances of texts calls and data to be used in Sri Lanka. Perhaps a 3 pay as you go coukd offer this but it depends where you are from.

When I went through customs at Colombo airport there were stalls selling about half a dozen brands of different SIM cards

Pretty much at random I bought one for Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel

I've a feeling that I was might have been overcharged for the amount I paid for the top up, but can't be sure

Anyway, my Mobitel SIM has been pretty good so far, except for poor reception in some rural areas on the rail route to Jaffna
