Hi
I'd love to hear from anyone who's rafted the Sitawaka or Kotamale rivers - am really interested in the Kotamale, I've rafted a few times and don't need to do the tamer rivers anymore (previous rafting done in NZ (near Queenstown - very tame) and Australia (good - Tully R.), but not sure just how experienced you have to be to do the grade 5 Kotamale trip. Any opinions welcome.

Also, I am wondering if public transport is good enough to do day trips on my own to Horton National Park - World's End and Adam's Peak if based in Nurwara Eliya - I don't want to spend ages waiting for the bus to go/get there. Maybe Hatton is a better place to stay?

Oh, and has anyone done any mountain bike or organised trekking trips in this area? Have requested help from Reddot tours too with regards to rafting and other adventurous stuff I'd like to do.

Thanks

Hi,
Sorry to be so long answering this query but I managed to lose a little black book which is now found.
In the little black book is an address. It's a local travel agent in Colombo , which organises trips for local people, stuff like a weekend trip from Colombo to the ancient cities, to Kandy elephant orphanage, etc. As it's for the locals , it's at local prices which are infinitely lower than the norm, for us foreigners.
They advertise a white water rafting trip at Kitulgala, pick up in Colombo and including lunch at the Plantation hotel. All on a coach full of Sri Lankan day trippers .
Address is,
World Travel Centre, Colombo ( PVT ).
51/1 Alexander Place,
Colombo 07
Tel; numbers,,, 2685100---------2683999---------4710050
Rod.
