Hello,

I am going with 3 of my friends for a 5 day trip to Srilanka from India for this new year's eve. We are not looking for anything fancy or a spiritual trip. We just want to be on the road for the day and sleep somewhere at night. Here is our itinerary

I have a few questions and would really appreicate any help on this,

1) How advisable it is to rent a car and travel? I guess the conditions won't be different than that from India.

2) We thought Hikkaduwa is a nice place for the 31st night to party. Are there any other party places around?

It would be great to find any fellow travellers coming during this time. Thanks in advance.

Ella is overrated, I would opt for Haputale instead. Do a short hike to Liptons Seat from Haputale town.

Would be economical to charter a car for five for the whole trip

Hi Guys
My suggestion its better to get a driver rather than self drive.One thing is as your coming in closer to the new year everyone can enjoy to the fullest.In Tangalle you can visit Hummanaya the second largest Blow Hole in the World.

I can't give any recommendations on self driving. It has both ins and outs.
Hikkaduwa is the best place for partying in new year eve. Mirissa would also be a great place (little more to south).
