Good point, but we were there in January and it was fine – unbroken sunshine, water was not good for diving. We may have just been lucky I guess. Thanks.

Galle makes a great base. It's a UNESCO site and has some great beaches. Alternatively, you could consider an Ayurvedic retreat.
