Hi everyone,
as we are planning to travel around Sri Lanka with small children, we were wondering if anyone could recommend a doctor/hospital in/around Kataragama, Arugam Bay, Sigiriya and/or Kandy in case we will need one

Hi,
Kandy:
Enough western type private hospitals & Kandy govt. hospital.
Sigiriya :
2 hrs to Kandy & Dambulla district hospital for an emergency.
Kataragama:
Govt. hospital for an emergency & Hambantota private channeling centers evening time (Where You can meet specialist doctors). Matara is the city you should looking for when you are at Kataragama if you need big western type private hospitals.
Arugambay- Not sure.

Hello,

No need to worry. There are private nursing homes in almost every city in Sri Lanka. You can find good qualified doctors there.
And there are government hospitals as well where I think you shall get a good service.

There's a typical dispensary in Arugambay as well as an ayurvedhic treatment centre. You'll be able to meet a 'good' doctor in Pottuvil.
