For our 10 days trip in Sri Lanka including 2 days for a wedding, we gave a lot of thoughts on what is the best transportation solution, but given the short duration of our stay and our will to get a large insight of the island, finding a driver was the most reasonable option.

Finding the right driver is never an easy task as there are many options on forums and through the regular guidebooks. We choose Jay in the first place because he was also working for well established local travel agencies, and we simply never regretted it : Jay has been such an help in every step of the journey !

First of all, he is super flexible and pay a great deal of attention to your needs and your requirements : we have changed the initial schedule several time, upon his suggestions or our wishes and he was never unhappy with it.

Second of all, he his more than a driver : he knows the usual touristic places as well as some hidden jems, and if you ask him to help you finding out of the box places. He was eager to make suggestions, and we felt free to accept or refuse them when it was not our wishes. Our trip would probably not have been the same with any driver or without Jay at all :)

We used Askana VP. He was reliable, safe and friendly. However we did have quite a few arguments about what was included in the price (having agreed it all in writing beforehand). I guess you get these disagreements with most such arrangements. He was also training another guide at the time, which meant that the car was cramped because there were 4 of us!
