Hey there. I leave for a 2 month Asia trip in 2 days!! exciiitttteeedddd.
My dad has planned a stop in Sri Lanka for 2 weeks
and ive only seen bad things about that country. Now I know it isn't ALL bad, but it still makes me nervous going there.
We plan on staying in the safe South areas. but it still irks me...
I am 18 and this is my first traveling trip.
Has anyone recently gone there?
I really do want to go, but I just need some extra reassurance.

My experience - 2 weeks in SL, November.

I've just returned from 2 weeks trip over SL. Thought of sharing my experience with you guys.
My initial post is here.

1. To go or not to go?
Definitely go. I've enjoyed every single day of my trip.

2. Safety:
We've stayed away from North and East. Only sign of civil war are the roadblocks. Oh, and we missed Yala, becouse it was closed, due to couple of armed Tamil guys "lost" there. So it's safe as long as you don't go looking for troubles.
