Hello,

Has anyone stayed at Ganga Garden near Aluthgama on the banks of the Bentota River? If so, would you recommend it? How was the food, people and rooms?

I had made a post about a week ago asking the Lucky Star Guesthouse, but received no responses....does anyone know if this is a new guesthouse or if it's just off the radar of where to stay? I've made reservations for Dec., but would like some feedback if anyone has stayed there.

About the Icebear Hotel in Negombo, I've stayed in Negombo before, but this place looks interesting? Any feedback....is it more than just a one night stop over on your way in and out of SL?

Hi.
I do not know about the other two places but Ice bear in Negombo has a reputation for things being stolen from the rooms. Everytime money was stolen from the rooms the Swiss owner was not there. So no one to take responsibility.

That sounds worrying. We are booked in to stay at the Icebear for two nights when we arrive in Sri Lanka next month. Has anyone else had similar experiences there?

I have never stayed there but I have met people who did and were very happy. But this was last year and before.

Four years ago I stayed at Ice Bear, the owner and surroundings were really charming. At that time I certainly heard no comments about theft from rooms etc. enjoy your stay
