Hiya peeps...

I'm off to Sri Lanka for the first 2 weeks of February next year.
Can't wait!!

I'm planning on spending a week on the south coast chilling out
and spending the 2nd week inland doing some walking.

My question is a simple one: Do I need to book ahead to get accommodation during this time?

It's still (slightly) in tourist season and I'm worried all the beach accommodation will be taken.
I'm looking at budget accommodation

Also...In your opinion is Sri Lanka cheaper or more expensive than India?

Thanks (as always) for your thoughts.

I am in sri lanka at the moment and apart from in towns where there is a test match being played have found the following
Nuwara elya - 2 rooms booked out of 12 in 2000 rupee hotel

ella - only or 4 other guests at Rawana Holiday ( out of 12 rooms)- 1500 with balcony, 1000 without and great food and location

you should encounter no difficulty at all but may prefer to book if arriving late afternoon
