Are the buses still running from Colombo to the Airport in light of the recent LTTE activity? I'm down in Hikkaduwa and heard a whisper that its taxi or walk to the Airport. I'm guessing that the taxi drivers are just trying to drum up some business. ANy info is much appreciated as I fly out on the 29th.

Took a bus from I dont remeber where in Colombo to the airport last saturdays...100 rouppies and something as i took 2 seats ....Air con...leave you few hundreds meters to the airport...

I know that the buses are still running from the South to Colombo and I haven't heard anything about them stopping in Colombo itself.

There is an intersting upto date section on this website about the airport bus. The bus it seems leaves from Matara and goes directly to Airport and I guess it has to pass through where you are staying. There is a phone number listed on the site .
www.mirissa.com<BR><BR>Last time I went to the airport i got the 187 from the bus station , it took 1 hour and was about 60 rs. I heard thatthe run well into the night but i never like to be in that bus ststion after dark.
If you have been surfing and have a board I think the bus is too small to take it.
