Can anyone offer advice about whether or whether not to climb Adams peak later this month, in mid-late July? We have booked a guide as apparently the lights are not lit up as its not the 'pilgrimage season'. However I have been reading that it is very rainy and low cloud at this time? Is this true or might it be ok? Would we still get the view from the top and see the shadow of the peak on the cloud below at dawn?
I don't think anyone can give you the answer you want, it's just the luck of the draw. I climbed in January and had fantastic views but the day before and day after, the peak was covered in cloud. Detailed weather forecasts are very good and accurate these days, probably the best you can do is to keep an eye on one of those in the days leading up to your date.
It's not a good idea. Will face huge weather changes, rain & risky.slippery.
No lights, no police no roadside stalls..advised against.
BRgds.
