Hi

Already had some advice on my forthcoming trip to Sri Lanka I have now played with it a bit and was looking for what people though of my new one. We are trying to mix a bit of relaxation and some sightseeing.

Oct 1 Arrive at a Colombo Airport take a taxi direct to Dambulla
Oct 2 See Dambulla and rest a bit stay in Dambulla
Oct 3 Take a TT to walk up Sigirriya Stay in Dambulla
Oct 4 Take early morning taxi to Kandy to take the train to Ella
Oct 4 & 5 stay in Ellla
Oct 6 Make our way to Mrissa but maybe overnight in Tissa can we get to a nature reserve from Mrissa?
Oct 7,8,9,10 Mrissa
Oct 11 taxi to Colombo airport and fly to Singapore.
Should we do a night in Colombo at the end or are we not missing that much. I have to bear in mind my wife likes beach time so trying to see as much as possible without rushing but still need time for the beach!!

For Yala national park good stop over is Tissa as morning safari usually 6-9.30 hrs so it's easy to stay very close rather than traveling through a long distance early in the morning.
And Mirissa to Air port is 3.5-4 hrs drive through expressway FYI.If the flight is not very early like 8 am or 9 am you can directly proceed to air port from Mirissa.
You have not mentioned the time period (most likely Yala is close in Sept ..)
Best.

Colombo is good for city tours. Mostly shopping and stuff but beach wise closest to Colombo is Negombo, as in Close to the airport, a less than 30 minute journey.

Hi There is a place in Ampara hingurana.its about 50 km away from Ella and also 50 km from there to arugambay. A eco type lake resort. you can spend one full day there and go to mirissa after that via Udawalawa.
