Hello!
My boyfriend and I have 1 month to spend in Sri Lanka in november. Could anyone offer any help with our itinerary?
We are flying in and out of Columbo, and I love the look of Kandy, while he wants to go to Argum Bay.

Other than that there are so many places that look great, but we're struggling to plot ourselves a good route! while we don't want to miss out on anything really special, we don't want to be moving round all the time. We'd rather do fewer places for more time to really appreciate them and chill out. My last trip was month travelling in Rajastan and I ended up staying in udaipur almost 2 weeks instead of the 3 days we were advised!!!!!!

thanks in advance :)

hi, in month you could cover a lot of Sri Lanka or have time to visit a few places and relax and chill out. most bacpackers on arrival stay in Negombo rather than Colombo, only 20 mins taxi from airport and on the beach. there are plenty of hotels, restaurants and some bars along the main strip. November is a good month to travel along the west and south coast as the monsoon season will have just ended and it just before the high season at christmas so there may be few crowds around. suggesting the best route depends on your mode of travel, wheher you are going on public buses and trains (cheap, slow but great fun) or hiring a car and driver (costs about $50 a day and will allow you to get more out of your trip). we did a mix of both which worked well for us. in general i would suggest you must spend time in Cultural Triangle, Kandy & hill country and then head south and work your way around to Aughrim Bay, as i said the best route will depend on how you expect to travel
