but #6 also says:
(However the next day through a contact in Gilgit, who had informed with the immigration office over there I was told that no changes had been made in the visa regulations….)

Anyway I passed the border between china and pakistan on September 30th and I had no problems. On September 30th other 10 foreigners (from europe, USA, Japan...) got the visa on the border in Sost. No problems at all. The border was closed between October 1st and October 7th (7 days) and the last bus from Kashgar to Sost left on September 29th (so no buses for 9 days).

Is really strange that suddendly from October 8th no more visas on arrival are issued. That just looks a scam for getting more money ("50 dollars fee.." BULLSHIT).

Now in Kashgar. At least 2 groups totaling 5 travellers from the hostel I am at have been turned back by Chinese immigration at Tashkurgan - VOA from Pakistan is no longer possible. Another two girls from the hostel have been refused bus tickets to Sost at the International Bus Station.

Very bad news. Since the visa policy for Pakistani visas got stricken this was the easiest option which also abandoned. This can be a very big loss for tourism in Pakistan.

Indeed, its terribly bad new for the tourism in Pakistan if the VOA is not granted as it was the only hope in promoting tourism in the country.Hope the story 'd not last for long.

There goes my plan.
