Hi all,
I am going to do the Gondogoro La and Snow Lake treks soon and after that I stillI have two weeks to spare (around the 2nd and 3rd weeks of September). I am thinking about doing a couple short and easy treks on my own.
I won't be bringing a tent and a stove so tent/hut rental and meals must be available at that time of the year.

I believe these treks fit my requirements?
Rakaposhi Base camp
Fairy Meadow
Ultar Meadow

Are there any other? Day treks are OK too.

Thanks!

Bonjour from Chitral,

Day trek over Hussani andf to passu glaciers from Boreth lake.

Day trek to Batura glacier from Passu.

Rakaposhi base camp ( Tagha Phari) 4 to 6 hrs ascend and then back to Minapin ,that's a long day so better to start early and I'd suggest you to stay at
Diran Guest House ( a lovely place)

Ciao,

Rakaposhi BC is indeed superb, it's possible as a (very hard) dayhike. Fairy Meadows is also beautiful, it's only a short hike if you climb there by jeep.
I also liked Chapursan Valley (I don't know whether it's still allowed to go there).

Chapursan valley is still restricted zone for foreign travelers so no chance of trekking there.

Bonjour from Chitral,

Chipursan is a closed zone these days even permits are not being issued.

Boreth lake to Gulmit and Hussaini glaciers trek, is a day trek , please keep that in mind.

Agree with WILLEMSPIE, Rakaposhi (Thaghaphari trek) in a day, very strenuous one.

Ciao,

How does one visit Alam jan Dario's village in Chapursan? Is it only the trekk which is not allowed?
Are foreigners still allowed to visit Shimshall? What is the easiest way to get to Shimshall from Gilgit? or is it best to spend the night in Gulmit??? Does one need to go by boat to Gulmit now? Sorry for so many questions....it's been a long while since I visited the North.

Your replies are much appreciated.

Chapursan is closed for foreigners though you can go Shimshal. The easiest way to get there is to take jeep from Passu not Gulmit). You have to go to Hussaini by boat which is a small village in-between Gulmit & Passu (if you remember).

Anyone know if there have been any changes in regards to Chapursan being closed for foreigners and if it is now open, where one can get a permit if coming from the north from China.

Many thanks for any responses
