Hey all,

I would need around 10 kilograms of trekking equipment from Lahore to Kathmandu. It's winter trekking gear and I do not want to carry it with me in India. I have a few questions on this topic?

1) what is the best place to send this package in Lahore?
2) can I buy an insurance for it?
3) how much does this cost and is one month enough to get it there?

Thanks for the help

Regards
Mikko

The cheapest way to parcel it from LHR-KTM is to send it through post office & maximum 2/3 weeks to reach Kathmandu.

Bonjour from Islamabad,

Never send it through a post office in Pakistan, please beware of that because once it's sent and if it's lost or sometimes confiscated by the customs office so they'd let you know after a couple of weeks.

I'd suggest OCS, that is with reasonable rates.
DHL is also good but a bit expensive .

You can send it by Pakistan post which is cheaper option. You can also buy insurance for it. Here is their website http://www.pakpost.gov.pk/ It will take 15 days for your parccel to reach Kathmandu and mean while you can see the latest update regarding your parcel by checking your tracking number on their website.

Apart from DHL there are other private couriers which are cheaper and trust worthy such as Sky net etc.................

Hope this helps a bit.

Also try at TCs. their rate is competitive.

Hi Mikko

As well as considering how to send the parcel, it's worth considering where to send it to in Nepal; more info on this thread.
