Valuable report old_india_hand, keep it up .

FYI just recieved Pakistan tourist visa last week at Canberra, Australia. Submitted on Monday by mail and recieved it already back on the Friday using express post. Valid for 6 months however only for a 2 week stay (not 90 days) which was only enough to cover my 'confired itinerary'. I plan to stay there longer as I'm riding my bicycle however since I required to submit a confirmed itinerary I didn't want to book weeks worth of accomodation only for it never to be used as I'd mainly be staying in small guest houses along the way.
So next question, is it possible to extend the visa somewhere in Pakistan?
Why only 2 weeks ! - not good news.
How many days did you ask for on the form ?
Has the consulate / embassy make a mistake.
Last year visa extensions were in a ‘grey area’, but said to be possible.

The embassy in Canberra seems to have changed its policy. I've applied for multi-entry visas for Pakistan each year since 2009. Until last year, it would automatically issue tourist visas that were valid for six months with 90 days for each entry. But when I applied in July 2012 for a double-entry visa, I received only 30 days per entry, which about covered the 'itinerary' I provided for each one. The visa had the same consular signature as all of my earlier visas, so it's not a change of personnel but a change of policy. On the other hand, on that occasion I asked for and received my passport back in 24 hours.
For Canberra, I suggest submitting a detailed itinerary that justifies your stay in the country for a little longer than you plan. It may also be quite different to what you plan, in that you shouldn't mention travel to any sensitive areas or any trekking expeditions. Include a list of accommodation even if you don't have confirmed bookings. Otherwise, try the consulate in Sydney.

Australia seems a very friendly place in terms of Pakistan visa ,I came across some Aussies who got their Pak visas without any hassles .

thanks emmeff. Invaluable. I'm currently trying to figure out how to apply for Pakistan Visa through Canberra while traveling from Morocco into Europe. Do they really only accept postal order, certified bank cheque or bank draft?

JTardisL - How will you send you passport to Canberra while crossing from north Africa to Europe? The embassy and consulate accept only the methods of payment described on their websites. A postal order is the cheapest and easiest option, as you can pick that up in lots of places (in Australia).

Hi,
I wanted to travel through Iran by motorcycle but am afraid that if I put that on my itinerary they will reject my visa (german citizen) .
So if I just put on my application (travel agency: key2persia) that I fly into the country will I need to provide my flight number?
Also flight from india to Iran and back are less then 100 EUR so if needed I might even buy a flight - but will I then be able to enter into the country by bike?
thanks
