Hi all,

I am thinking of traveling to Pakistan for a Buddhist Pilgrimage and Cultural Heritage Tour. I have a few questions on getting a Pakistani Tourist Visa:

(1) I am an India-born naturalized US citizen so passport shows India as birth place. Does this create an issue?
(2) I am currently studying in Sri Lanka and would apply in Colombo. I have a Sri Lanka Residence Permit in the passport. Does this create any issues?
(3) I would write Buddhist as religion and have a Buddhist Itinerary - hopefully thru a travel agent. No issues with this, right?
(4) Finally, what is easier to get: 30-day visa or 3-month visa?

If anyone has experience with the Pakistan Embassy in Colombo, I would love to hear about that also. TIA all.

You will have no problem at all because it shows India as birth place because i have seen so many Sikh Pilgrims (Canadian/US) national who born in India. The high commission might ask you for letter of invation (LOI) from Pakistan based tour operator which will cost you 50 to 75$.Having Sri Lankan resident permit does not creat any problem also.

Thanks guyanaguy and shandur_adventure - that's very helpful. Now I need a travel agent who can help plan the itinerary, provide transportation and hotels, and an invitation letter. If you know of anyone, please let me know. Thanks again.
