@29 (pack_backer) Do you think its not safe to travel Lahore? You wrote about the Sri Lankan cricket team thanks for sharing that with the TTrs, but do you have any idea about who is behind that story? I'd like to add one more thing here, The bomb blasting every month/week in Pakistan is not by the Pakistani resident, all these are just because of the foreigners staying in Pakistan from long time, They are here just for this purpose and this is their mission.

If you will have a look on the newspapers there would be more about the foreign killed a Pakistani citizen like the Remind Davis did in Lahore and when people ask for the reason of killing that innocent do you know what they answer? They say they did it just for their safety.

All i want to tell here is this is not 100% true that Pakistan and the Pakistani are dangerous or enemy to the westerners. I just want you to come here and see the Pakistan and its people by your own eyes not through the eyes of Media.

I'd never agree with anybody else if they say Lahore is not safe for travelers.

Not all Pakistanis are dangerous, not all street food will give you the runs either. However
Many Pakistanis refuse to consider that many local kids have been brainwashed in the Wahhabi madrassas and they are doing some of the bombing too. Blaming a foreign hand is a form of partial denial that the country , is in some places, frankly out of control.
Why were the attackers of the Sri Lankan cricket team never caught?
Please answer that one. There is video footage of them just walking off, probably to have chai with the ISI.

Number 31 sorry but your English is very poor. Please PM me in Urdu. First down load 'lipikaar' and use that software to type in Urdu script.

I am coming overland from Iran this July. Does anyone have any current info on the situation for backpackers in Balochistan at the moment? I only plan on passing through on the way to Lahore. Sounds like lahore is a gem. Cant wait!

Thanks

You're absolutely right patt4220, Lahore is a gem of Pakistan.

Balcuchistan'd be a transit region for you, take a bus from Taftan to Quetta,
Stay at
Hotel Al-Naeem

Take a train to Lahore

Travel by daylight bus from the border through Balochistan, stay indoors at night in Quetta. (Not that you'll have any choice about wandering the streets at night.)

Travel by Sammi Daewoo bus onwards from Quetta, which has more services and probably better security than the train in that region.

Edited by: emmeff to add 'in that region'.

Agree @ 35 that traveling by Daewoo is lot more safer and faster from Quetta to Multan and Lahore.
