I am a European ("white") male from Canada, so blending in won't be an option.

We do have white males in Pakistan, so blending in'd be helpful, earn respect and give you an opportunity to meet the locals.

Lahore, seems fine so you could visit it.

It's damn hot in summers, expect 42 to 45 Celsius the average temperatures.

It's the culture capital of Pakistan, must visiting places are
Badshahi mosque, Fort, food at food street.

Avoid visiting the Sufi shrines at rush hours and especially the sufi nights.

Bon voyage..

like above posters said, lahore is very much worth travelling too
a lot to see and a lot to visit - from the mughal time and also from the british colonial time

lahore museum, the old town, badshahi mosque, jehangirs tomb, shalimar gardens, the mall with the gpo and other great buildings - all great places to go to. lawrence gardens and race course park are good place to go to as well, especially to escape the pollution and the noise of the big city.

Lots of great food as well in lahore. in my experience, you dont choose what restaurant you want to go to, but what you want to eat, and from that, you choose what is the place to go to. most local places are spezialized in one or two dishes they do best. food street, as suggested by other posters, is a great place to eat in the evenings. open air, and there is a lot of great food. for me the highlight, is a kind of nan made of maize flour, and eaten with a vegetable curry that is similar to spinach. and also, very tasty fried fish. mmhh, i wish i was there :-)

For fried fish, I've 2 favorite spots in Pakistan.

Damra fish in Sukkur from river Indus.

Fish from river Kabul at Sardaryab, some 20 Km from Peshawar.

Enjoy the tasty cuisine of Pakistan..

Hmmmm.... Having seen the river Kabul in Kabul (and beyond) and the amount of raw sewage it contains, I would not be so keen on the fish...

No PB, I'm not talking about the small river flowing across the Kabul city, near Deh Afghanan.

I'm talking about river Chitral, comes out Chiantar glacier of Boroghil valley, flows across Chitral, Kunar province of Afghanistan, enters Pakistan near Warsak, flows across Charsadda, falls into river Indus near Attock.

Ciao,
