Hey,

I am traveling from Islamabad up to Naran/Kaghan in August and wonder if I can get a police escort as I am german citizen.

Foreigners re not escorted (unless you a high profile diplomat) from Islamabad to Naran/Kaghan as the above mentioned areas re quite safe.

You dont Need a Police escort! If some People Block the Road. And Hide behind Stones with guns...What should One or two Police Men do? You Would Need a Police escort with a Tank :).

you don't NEED one. if you got one, you'd get 8 guys in a jeep. in my experiences police escorts in pak work very well, both in terms of access and safety, if and when you DO require them. here, you won't. if you wanted one, start by speaking to you guest house or hotel in isl. if you draw a blank, try the tourism dept or write back on here.

Okay thank you. I was asking because I have seen various people here talking about they had an escort even if they are no diplomat. But probably it depends on the area of travel.
