I am a Westerner who will be in Kathmandu for a week with time off on weekday evenings and a little extra time on the weekends. Would appreciate suggestions on places to see/things to do. What are good gifts to buy? Locations to get them?
Also, how safe is Kathmandu for a foreigner, especially at night?
Thanks.
Can I use my PLUS bank card for cash withdrawls in Nepal if so where?
thanks!
Hey guys,
I am planning a trip to rural tibet and nepal and am wondering if anyone knows about power sources for recharging digital cameras. Can you find outlets here and if so, what adaptors are needed? No doubt a stupid question, but I am stumped!
hey there,
i want to go to nepal next spring. we want to fly from kathmandu to lukla and then combine the kala pattar with the gokyo valley trek. after we're finished, we want to fly back to kathmandu from lukla.
our problem is that we can't really figure out how long the whole trek will take us, so how do we book the flight back ?
do we just buy the return ticket with an open date in kathmandu and simply show up at the airfield when we want to go back ?
i would really appreciate your advice !!

Hi there,
My brother and I are aiming to do the everest base camp trek next November in Nepal and were wondering is it best to book the trek through a company here in the UK or just sort one out whilst out there?
The company's in the UK seem quite pricey and I know it would be cheaper out there. However would the organisation be better and are there any dangers of booking it and going with a company in Nepal. i.e. are they reliable??
If somebody could let me know what is best from there own…
Namaste,
I will be in Nepal around the 25th of September, probably Pokhara. Was curious if anyone is interested in a trek around there? Maybe the Sanctuary. I am open to other places also, my schedule is totally flexible, I plan on being in Nepal for about 3 months. Throw me an email (under profile) rather than PM. Take care.
Hello!
I am the currently teaching English at Trungram Monestary just outside of Sankhu. I will be leaving the position in the next week or so and am looking for a replacement. It is an amazing job, and a wonderful experience to live in a monastery!
Job details:
Requirements: speak English
Place: Sankhu, a small village about a 1 hours bus ride from Kathmandu. It is not far from the city, only about 10 miles, but the bus takes a while. Getting into Kathmandu is easy, buses run all the time.

We are visiting Nepal soon and want to take our digital camcorder. However, our manual states that it shouldn't be used at high altitude. Has anyone used one at high altitude when they shouldn't? What happened?
