Hi all,
anybody knows whether I can easily buy plug adaptors in Nepal's local shops? I couldn't find the 2 round-pin adaptors here in Sydney, except those for europe, but friends told me they are not suitable for Nepal.
Thanks!
I am from Canada and need to stay in touch back home with the folks! In Canada our phones and such are locked and only work with the SIM Card provided by the phone provider. Has anyone had there Blackberry, etc. unlocked and then replaced with a SIM Card in Nepal.
Thanks
Hello-
my father and I are interested in trekking to base camp next year.
I've odne some searching and there are tons of companies offering guided trips to EBC in the 18-21 day range.
the price of these trips ranges from $700 to over $3000 per person.
could anyone offer me assistance on picking a good tour company for a reasonable price?
Thanks in advance!

hi (caps not working on this machine!!)
plan to do ebc in nov. im having difficulty getting flight information for kathmandu to lukla(carrier etc)
anybody help??
also is it possable to arrive in kathmandu on one day and book a flight for the following day- obviously trying to save time
cheers
My partner and I will be in Kathmandu late October and I have a few questions.
1. Should we be worried about the political situation there? Is it serious enough to cancel plans?
2. Should we take a flight or a bus from Varanasi? And if we do get a flight, are we anywhere in the vicinity of Everest and will we be able to see it? Are either option easy to organise once in Varanasi?
3. Any good day trips from Kathmandu? We don't have time for a trek but any ideas about how to spend our five days in…
- Do I really have to go on a package tour to be able to go to Tibet from Kathmandu? How much would that be?
2. If I can go there on my own, what would be the best way to go about it? By plane? By land? How much?
3. What is the best way to go to Dharamsala from Kathmandu?
Thanks!
what is kathmandu like these days?...is it really touristy?...i kind of figure it is since all the pre-post everest trekkers are there.
Hey, there.
I will send my passport in for an India visa. As far as I know, it would take around 5 days (correct me if I am wrong). Where can I go (except staying in KTM) for the 5 days without a passport? Can I go to Phokala?
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I spent last ten days in Kathmandu. Stayed in hotel "Florid", Thamel, Z street. Just want to tell everyone that this place is worth to avoid. I took this hotel because some guy in Pokhara recommended it.
Reason why I'm writing this is that in the end of my staying owner charged me his (quite dirty and overpriced) rooms with extra 10 percent "government tax". Nobody in Nepal does it.
My recommendation is to find another hotel.
All the best,
Jack from Croatia.
Hello,
I haven't been able to find much info on the bus between Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Where is this booked and when? Can I book it on the day/day before or do I need to get in well in advanced?
What is the approximate cost of the bus?
Where does it leave from?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
Cheers,
Andy
