Hi,
I am about to trek to the Everest Base Camp In April. How many days can I expect to walk on a snowy land (that is, a white, light-reflecting land)? I'm asking because of eyes issues.
Thank you,
Michal
Has anyone crossed the India-Nepal border by land since February 2017??
I've been receiving email travel alerts from various governments about taking extra care in the area.
Have you crossed the border recently? How was your experience?
Thanks so much in advance!!!
Here is the latest UK travel alert email:

My husband and I are planning to visit Nepal in Oct/Nov to do a trek. We have 3 weeks in total, including a our flight to and from the states. I'm assuming that means we can't do a trek longer than 14 days, and that might even be pushing it. Here's what I'm looking for, if anyone has any advice or suggestions.
To preface, we are avid hikers and spend most of the summer hiking in the Pacific Northwest of the States, but we don't really do anything super outrageous. No mountaineering or rock…
Hi all!
I am a 29 year old person who likes to go hiking. This October/November I plan to go to Nepal to do some trekkings. My friends do not really like to walk, so I plan to join an organized group trip with people from my country. But I have multiple good options, and have a really hard time choosing, so I wondered if you can give me some advice? I can only get one full month off at my job (about 31 days). I think I am quite good at hiking, so the distances won't be a real problem. However…
Hey everybody,
This is my first trek. I have lots of experience with hiking/ backpacking as I was in the military for awhile. I am excellent with land navigation, etc. I decided recently that I needed to go on a trip to decompress as well as start checking some things off my bucket list. I'm trying to go in May of 2017 and I'm having some difficulty with logistics. I began by talking to a guide service through the website kimkim? The guy wants to do it in 15 days which I prefer 24ish. In…
An Australian trekker died in Lobuche recently while on the way to EBC. They had no acclimatisation day in Dingpoche, but went Tengpoche - DIngpoche -Lobuche. Safer agencies have two nights in Dingpoche with acclimatisation hikes to Chukhung, some even make an intermediate stop at Duglha.
Just a reminder, altitude can and will kill the unwary/ignorant.
The trek: htt…
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of going to Nepal for about 10 days, starting on 1st May in Kathmandu.
Will it be the monsoon season during that time, please?
Also, for 10 days, we intend to cover Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Patan / Bhaktapur.
Is that too many places for that period? We would like to do more sight-seeing mainly.
Cheers!!
Hey,
I just made a post about Langtang and Himal Mardi so sorry for "spamming" with an other question.
I have been a couple of times in Spiti in India and like the barren climate. I guess the nearest you would come in Nepal i Mustang. But because of lack of time (etc) Mustang is not an option for me.
Is it Worth going to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni, Marpha and Muktinath? Any other villeges I can go to in the area without the Restricted Area Trekking Permit? I would like to trek for about a…
I am thinking about the differences between trekking in Langtang and doing the Mardi Himal trek. My greatest concern about Mardi Himal is that there will be no "real" villages after Forest camp and the afternoons therefore will be Cold and boring (I trek alone).
What are the ups and downs with the two treks? The aim with my trek is the Mountains but I also enjoy meeting people in villages.
Best regards
Gustav
Hello,
My partner and I are travelling to Nepal at the start of May for two months. We've arranged to work at a tea farm in Ilam for a few weeks the at a school in chitwan for the rest.
We're flying to kathmandu and want to fit some trekking in at the start of the trip before leaving to go to Ilam and while the weather's still (hopefully ) not too wet.
We're inexperienced trekkers and we're looking for a circuit lasting a week or so that doesn't require heavy hiking gear. Is this possible?
Cheers…
