Hello,

I am looking for one or two day hiking options close to Anapurna, and someone recommended me Dhampus and Chitre village. I am not interested in treking therefore I would like to avoid paying permit, and was wondering if accessing the above mentioned villages would require one?

Also, what kind of hiking options are there from these two villages (in terms of intensity and time-duration). Ideally I would like to hike in a place that is as least touristy as possible and being surrounded by…

Hi everyone,

I'm heading to Nepal for two weeks and plan to spend one week trekking. In my other week I am keen to send some time learning about Buddhism and meditation. I have read about Kopan Monestary and was considering visiting there. Can anyone attend their daily teachings and prayers or is it guests only? I could consider staying there either although I don't really have three nights which is their minimum stay.

I have also read about Sadhana yoga-meditation retreat in Pokhara on some…

Hi everyone,

I'm heading to Nepal early April and looking to do thia trek. I'm a solo female with a woeful sense of direction so I think I'll need to find some buddies or a guide. Does anyone have experience of doing this trek with a guide or group? I am aware that I could book myself into a large group online before I go but that doesn't really appeal to me. I'd rather a small group and to use local services. I'd be happy to try to find someone to buddy up with and hire a guide between us…

Hello All,
Going to Nepal next week and want to hire a driver for 2-3 days to drive me around KTM, Patan, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, etc.
Can anybody recommend somebody reliable and with a good car? What are the going rates for this sort of excursion (coming back to KTH hotel every day)
Thanks!

Are there any buses from Pokhara to Kathmandu? Ok, there are but I don't want to spend 25 dollars on overpriced Greenline (whatever it's called). I traveled on local buses before so it's ok for me. Anything around 500 - 700 rupees would be fine. Are there frequent buses?

As far as I understand, the tourist visa together with passport photo upload can be done online, up to 15 days prior to arrival in KTM, am I right?

It still needs to be processed at the airport with the receipt of the application at hand, right? And payment of USD 25 is needed for a 15-day visa now.

Hey there,
I'm heading to Nepal for 4 weeks of trekking. I'd love to do the EBC round and Island Peak. However, I'm uncertain on how to procede best. I've inquired complete tours (e.g. with Himalayan Ecstasy). However, they only offer either 4 days of Island Peak (joining in Chukung) or 17 days Island Peak round trip however without EBC! (for 2250 USD).

Can I find a guide in Nepal for hire to go to EBC and then join in Chukung and what, have my guide waiting for 4 days? How much would this be?

Does power cut happen often (like more than twice daily or for a long period of time, i.e. more than an hour) in Nepal, please? Is it advisable to bring a torch light?

I suppose a mobile phone can serve as one too, but charging it might be a problem too?

Cheers!!
