Which shop suggestions for equipment rental (Hire) in Kathmandu
I have a private 6 day tour setup going from Kyirong to Lhasa anyone interested in joining me?
Has anyone recently gone over Kongma La (From Chhukung)and gone to Dougla instead of Labuche? If so, how is the trail down and do you have any information to provide? Does anyone know how many lodges are in Dougla? When we were there last there was only one which filled quickly. We are heading to Cho La after so really prefer to stay there rather than Lobuche. We will be there around the first of November.
Thanks!
Sharon
Hi all,
I'm worried about the safety of highway travel in Nepal. My travel partner and I need to travel from Kathmandu to Jagat to start a partial Annapurna Circuit trek, ending in Jomsom. We'll then need to travel from Jomsom back to Kathmandu.
What is the safest way to travel? Tourist bus, local bus, private car, private jeep? We have pretty much ruled out flying because I've read that it's unsafe. I've heard that tourist buses are safer than local buses, so we can take one to Besisahar and…
Greetings, I've been reading Nepal guidebooks and getting familiar with how trekking works. I wanted to have good views so am coming in November since there's a better chance of seeing the mountains.
I have no time limitations for my trek, but would like suggestions on treks, approximately 2-3 weeks in November, using tea houses and home stays. Would like a few layover days to explore. Since it is peak season, would like a less traveled route. Don't like the crowds. I'm an older traveler…
I was trying to purchase my Lukla flight from the yeti website but my credit card would not go through. I emailed customer support and they told me I have to use MasterCard instead of visa (????)
It seems to be shady to me.
Does anyone have an agency they can recommend where I can buy my flights through them in advance? I am trekking in October and would rather have tickets in advance instead of waiting until I am in Kathmandu as I know there will be an enormous amount of crowds scrambling for…
I know this is a domestic flight, but as I am trying to purchase flights from Yeti Airlines website, it has a warning that states passengers must have a valid passport. I am assuming a copy of a passport will suffice?
The reason I ask is because while I will be trekking EBC, I actually won't have my passport on me because it will processing at the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu for my Chinese Group Visa to go to Tibet.
I know it is not an international flight, but I am just covering all bases.
My friend and I, two females in our early thirties, are hiking the APC (Jagat to Jomsom) in early October. We want to hire a guide and one porter (just the guide service, not an organized trek), and have reasonable quotes from the following companies:
3sisters
trek around Nepal
Himalayan Magic
Does anyone have experience with any of these companies, and have recommendations or warnings? Our primary concern is safety, for ourselves and the guide and porter.
Any info appreciated. Thanks!
Hi all,
A group of 3 of us are doing a 2 week trip in Nepal from 21st Oct - 5th Nov. We're flying into Kathmandu and planning on renting motor bikes there (Enfields seem to be the best bet at the moment!), doing a trip up into the Jhong area and then returning them to Kathmandu. I have a couple of questions which i'd really appreciate help on!

Firstly, does anyone have experience renting bikes there? Most articles i find are from 2012/13 etc, so nothing really up to date. Any up to…
