Hey, there.

I will send my passport in for an India visa. As far as I know, it would take around 5 days (correct me if I am wrong). Where can I go (except staying in KTM) for the 5 days without a passport? Can I go to Phokala?
Thanks a lot!

you can travel freely within Nepal....yes, you can go to pokhara. however, if you want to trek say in Annapurna, to get the ACAP permit, if i remember correctly, you have to show your passport to obtain the permit.

happy travelling

You can go anywhere in Nepal without a passport. Pokhara is good, visit the Busy Bee for some good beers and live music. Chill by the lake and go for some nice walks.

The bus to Pokhara takes the best part of a full day. Flying takes 40 minutes and costs about $70 usd.

Carry a photocopy of your passport. It provides ID with the explanation and can reduce any possible problems. eg booking into a guest house. Take care, Tommy
