Hi
My partner and I are wanting to do a trek in Nepal this October. Would ideally like one about 10 days long, could be a bit longer, somewhere away from the really busy routes, preferably with Tibetan villages. We are thinking about Upper Mustang, but have heard about the road. Has anyone been there recently? Does the road impact a lot on the experience? Any suggestions for an alternative trek? Dolpo? But I've heard that may be expensive and not much in the way of food or tea houses. Any ideas or information would be great.

I think you can hike Around Langtang, gosainkund helambu trek which is less touristic and connecting the tibetan Culture village.

Well i like the Langtang trek but it is not a trek with Tibetan villages.

Incomplete list of Tibeten-like villages:
Manang valley: Gyaru, Ngawal, Braga, old Manang, Phu (Phu not in Manang valley; restricted area)
lower Mustang: Kagbeni, Jharkot
Upper Manaslu: Samagaon

Lots of others further away.

Most of the above normally require more than 10 days trekking (except lower Mustang), but it could be possible to do part of trek by going up and return same way (e.g., Manang area).
