Hi,

We're planning to do a trek in Nepal in late Sept (from around 20th Sept or so), probably in the Annapurna or Everest region. We've about 11 days. Hope to seek advice from this forum on:

a. Would the weather during this period be suitable for trekking? I've heard that depending on whether the monsoon has ended, it may still be rainy. How would the current flooding in Nepal affect the situation?

b. Are there itineraries you would recommend, given our schedule?

c. Are there local trekking agencies in Nepal you'd recommend?

Thanks!

September is perfect month to trekking in Nepal. Monsoon ended in August. Current flooding situation is in control. I would recommend you Gorepani Poon hill trek in Annapurna region begin from Pokhara. If you want Everest region you Everest Panorama Treks would be nice.
I would recommend Yala Tours and Travels. They delivered all the commitment whatever they made before we bought the trip. The have skillful trekking guide and others staffs. yala

Thanks

Hi,
If you are fit, experienced trekkers, and know you can acclimatise in good time (or take Diamox!), then I would go for Annapurna Circuit, leaving from Pokhara. The walk up to Thorung La pass is superb; personally, I was a little disappointed with the descent to Jomsom, so you could fly out from there (but missing Poon Hill!).

I can recommend a guy called Dillip, who can be booked via Sunrise Paragliding. He is honest, hard-working, with a relaxed attitude, and a great sense of humour (unless you beat him at his favourite card game!!)). He really makes a lot of extra effort to make your trip enjoyable and safe, and he knows the trail very well. He took us on some side-trips that we would otherwise have missed. Big thumbs-up!! Tell him Mike and Simon sent you!

Mike
