Hi there!
After almost 9 month in Asia, I am about to finish my trip with the famous Annapurna trek, and am looking for trekking partners.
Unfortunately, my schedule is pretty tight: I will be in Kathmandu on september 25th, so given the time to purchase some material and to head for Pokara, I am planning to start the trek on the 28th.
And for flight reasons, I have to be in Delhi by the 18th of october, so i plan to finish the trek on the 14th at the latest.
That gives me about 16-17 days for the trek, which is pretty fast, but easely feasable, as i met quite a few people who did it in 14 days.
Concerning guides and others, I will take a guide if it is compulsory, and am not planning to take any porters: There are guest houses along the all walk, so it is easy to travel light.
If you are interested and can fit in the dates (sorry about that... but i really cannot change them), please send me an e-mail: brunogustot@yahoo.com
Hope to hear from some of you pretty soon! I will be checking my mail regularly until then.
Cheers, and safe travels to all!
Bruno

Many people start the trek in Besi Sehar which is about half way from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Pokhara's a lovely place, but you don't need to go there pre-trek. Check out www.yetizone.com for a typical itinerary. You can cover longer distances at the lower elevations to shorten the trekking time. Have fun.
You don't need a guide or a porter for this trek. Go straight to Besi Sehar as smm said and start your trek from there.
Enjoy.

Hi guys!
Thanks all for your tips. I will start in Besi Sehar. Do we need to pay the 2000 roupies annapurna entry fee if we start there or is it possible to go without?
cheers.

You should expect to pay the fee, so don't try to get out of that. You can find your way without a guide, and they are not required. But, I advocate supporting the local economy by hiring either a guide or a porter. But, don't go through an agency if you can help it. And, do not contact the agencies mentioned by adki or neelbhatt. They are touts just looking for business. Have a great trek! I did it in 12 days, plus a layover day when I hiked up to the Dhaulagiri Icefall. I don't walk fast, but rather did long days. Most trekkers stop at 2 or 3PM, whereas I hiked until 5:00 or 5:30PM, which shortened my number of days. 16 is the usual.
