Hi,
4 years ago we did the Annapurna circuit including Tilicho lake and Annapurna base camp. We had a great time. We're now considering going back next March, doing a 24 day Gokyo Lakes trek, a short break in Kathmandu and then doing the Annapurna circuit again.
The question is: Can anyone who has done both treks one-after-the-other tell me if it was too much. I'm not thinking so much physically (I imagine it gets easier the more you walk). I'm wondering more if you get sick of the sight of mountains after a while or if it just becomes boring.
I'm hoping not, but your experiences would be very interesting.
Just for info: Should we survive the above, we'll then spend 2 weeks touring around India.
Thanks in advance !
A.

I am not sure that this is a question that anyone can answer for you from an emotional rather than physical viewpoint. Personally, I have been trekking, living and working in Nepal for 12 years come Oct 5. Have done many of the same treks over and over again - including more than 10 times in the Everest area, 5 time on the full Circuit and too many times to count in other areas of the Annapurnas - and I am still not tired of it - and still see things that I missed before. I can't imagine not loving time spent in the beautiful Himalaya. The same things goes for the time that I have spent over many years in my own backyard in the Canadian Rockies - if you love nature, the outdoors, mountains, gorgeous scenery and meeting new people and old friends - what is there to get bored with! But then that is me - and you are you, so your feeling may be totally different. Try it. You might like it and if not, quit and do something else. That's the only way you will know.

My longest trek was 40 days (Jiri-gokyo-Khumbu-Hile) and I loved every minute of it. After a couple days rest I went and did the Sanctuary and still wanted more. It was perfect for me but many people turn back after a few days. Like ST says it depends on the person but judging from your history and the fact that you know what your getting into I would say it would be fine for you.
I would say do Gokyo AND Gorak Shep
One thing to consider with this much trekking is that the standard visa is only good for 60 days.
