Hi all,

I'm planning to fly to Nepal once more, first week of November. As I recall from my last visit (2013) one could not get the TIMS-card on Saturdays. However, the website of the Nepal Tourism Board office says the office is opened 7 days a week:

Any recent experiences in getting the TIMS-card on a Saturday?

Thanks in advance, Frans

Hi Frans,

During the main trekking season, you are likely to be able to get at TIMS card seven days a week from the Tourist Office. However, in my experience, you will find that counters for trekking permits and National Park entry fees are either closed or understaffed.

Thanks Eric, I guess I shouldn't count on getting all the permits on a Saturday....

From the (latest?) LP guide to Nepal:
"The easiest place to get a TIMS card is from the Tourist Service Centre in Kathmandu, mainly because you can also get conservation area and national park tickets in the same building (10am-1pm & 2-5pm Sun-Fri, TIMS card 7am-7pm daily, national parks tickets 9am-2pm Sun-Fri).
...
If you just need a TIMS card there’s a more central TIMS Centre office (7am-6pm Sun-Fri, 10am-noon Sat), also in Kathmandu, on the eastern side of Thamel, opposite Osho Travels."

Hi,

I got it in Pokhara's office on a Saturday (three weeks ago). They open regularly although they close at 2 pm (and close doors at 1.30 pm).
