I will be trying to leave KTM around the 25th of October. My travel agent told me that instead of buying the ticket now, I should wait until I reach KTM and buy it there since it should be cheaper...needless to say, that leaves me a little leary. What have been your experiences with this?
October is high season and flights are heavily booked. I doubt, that you would get a seat on a flight, if you leave it to the last minute......

I think that you would find it hard to book a seat now, as the flights around this time are booked out.
I would book it now.for peace of mind. Around 28th of Oct i have heard that Singapore airlines is going to start flying KTM singapore that could be another option.
I'm in the same situation, trying to decide if I should book my flight from KTM to Hong Kong where I have a reserved flight back to the US on Nov 19th. Not sure if November is still as busy as October. The national elections on Nov 22nd might also be an issue? Anybody with advice about pre-booking in November? It might also depend which airline you are flying. Thai Air seems more reliable than Royal Nepal.
