Eric,

Thank you for taking the time to write again. I do appreciate it. I have actually been trekking in Nepal
six times, and loving every moment. I have not been to Nepal since 2000 so for my big 65th Bday have
decided to go back ONE MORE TIME.

My situation is this......we will raft the Karnali River in Western Nepal in late April. Before that I would
like to fit in a short trek. Time is critical as my other half is still working. Also, I plan on organizing a small
group of friends to go along.

I am leaning toward Poon Hill with a slight detour off the beaten path to a place called Khopra Danda and
possibly a day trip to Khayer Lake. I think it will be simpler to go to Pokhara than to the Everest region
(could be wrong on that!)......this entire trek takes 7 days which will fit into our time frame.

I am also going to be hiring my guide who i have been trekking with since 1984. I know it will cost more
but he is a very good friend so we will have him organize for us.
SO, still exploring options but this is the best I have come up with at this time. Any more ideas are most
appreciated.
Thanks much,
Jiggy

At 65, I think you still can have several more trips to Nepal, if you want.

It sounds like you have a great trip planned. Have fun. While I mentioned a more lowland Everest Base Camp trek in an earlier post, my idea would have been to fly into and out of Lukla since you were short on time - just a week of trekking. It sounds like you have other ideas to trek in the Pokhara region. I can't argue with that. Its a great region to spend some time.
