Are there any buses from Pokhara to Kathmandu? Ok, there are but I don't want to spend 25 dollars on overpriced Greenline (whatever it's called). I traveled on local buses before so it's ok for me. Anything around 500 - 700 rupees would be fine. Are there frequent buses?

HI,
There are frequent local buses from Pokhara town. There are also numerous tourist buses, of which Greenline is the most expensive. Other tourist buses, leaving from the Lakeside tourist bus stand at 7.30 am, cost around 8 euros, not much more expensive than local buses.

Tourist buses are only leaving 7.30 am from Pokhara, and 7 am from Kathmandu.
Local buses every 30 minutes, latest from Pokhara at 8 pm.

Thanks! One more thing. Are there frequent buses from Kathmandu to Birgunj?

Yes there are but make sure they don't go the long way as there are road works between Mugling and Naryangath that usually cause many hours of delay. There are shared jeeps via Daman and Hetauda but hard to find where they leave, it's a bit out of Kathmandu

I am just not sure if I should try to find a bus from Pokhara to Birgunj or from Pokhara to Kathmandu and then from Kathmandu (possibly early in the morning) to Birgunj.

Yes, of course but I don't know what is more convenient. To go to Kathmandu and catch another bus to Birganj or find something direct from Pokhara to Birganj (if there is any). I have a flight from Calcutta to Kuala Lumpur on the 23rd at 00:30 am. I have to get from Pokhara to Calcutta and I have 4 days. I want to leave Pokhara on the 19th and get to border next day. Then I will catch train/bus from Raxaul or Patna to Calcutta.

Much better and shorter from Pokhara then. There are 4 or 5 buses from there to Birgunj, about 9 hours. Try to go early to avoid traffic jam after Mugling
