As far as I understand, the tourist visa together with passport photo upload can be done online, up to 15 days prior to arrival in KTM, am I right?

It still needs to be processed at the airport with the receipt of the application at hand, right? And payment of USD 25 is needed for a 15-day visa now.

My two trips last year I used the online application. I understand the paper application is still accepted and the actual process once at immigration is similar with paper or online printout. The online application requires you to print the receipt and bring it with you. You will also have a disembarkation card provided by the airline to complete but it seems no one is interested in it !

Yes, go to the payment counter, show application printout and pay for the period you wish, they will issue you a receipt, then go to the counter for the period you wish to apply for with receipt, application and passport.

It's a 2-min operation at the airport. If you're a clod, there's a guy that will type it for you. No need to be anxious and do it online.

Been twice in the last year (and going again in May). I've spent perhaps 10 min total in those visits. FWIW, both times arrived about Noon from Delhi.

It can be fast or slow, regardless of doing it online, paper or by computer on arrival. Our arrival atc11pm last October, we had done visa by online, and it still required 15-20 minutes.

Pirates got it, the visa process at Kat is pretty painless, just fill in the form when you land, pay at the counter and off you go ! Make sure you have some cash money, Sterling, Dollar or EU, they'll happily take any of them.

After paying at visa payment counter, you then line up at the counter for checking/processing your visa. Might be 1 minute, 15 minutes or much longer. We've seen it all.

Then you go downstairs and (usually) wait (and wait...) for your baggage.

On leaving the baggage area, your baggage tags may (or may not) be checked. Also, slight possibility they'll want to xray your bags on exit.

Then you leave this area, to pass by prepaid taxi counter, additional money exchange counter, and cell phone counters.

Finally, you exit arrivals and enter the (usually crazy) fray. (This could be anywhere from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours after landing.)

Here’s the Visa application form found at KTM Airport (December 2016).
