Next week I will cross from Tibet to Nepal through the border at Kodari. I know that it is possible to get a visa at the border but am not sure whether I need to pay for it with USD cash. The latest LP Nepal says that I can pay with Chinese yuan ( which is possible at the consulate in Lhasa) but I was just wondering if this is still the case?

I think you need to pay in Dollars.
It's cheaper in dollars at the border than at the consulate in RMB.
Oh that's all a bit confusing! If it's dollars only I'm at the mercy of the moneychangers. Thanks for the replies.
I paid with Nepali Rupees<2,500 Nrps> a few days ago. They take almost any major currency... but no credit cards<grin>.
Cheers,
Steve

Not really confusing. This topic has been bought up before and the answer is any convertable currency.
