Hi trekkers!

Looking to find someone who has actually DONE the Mohare Danda trek, and can confirm that it can be done in five days including transport to/from Pokhara. I see different suggestions to the length of the trek.
I am not an experienced trekker, but am in early twenties and in good shape.

If anyone have any other relevant tips and information regarding transportation, gear and accommodation etc. they are most welcome to dump them here! ;)

Thanks so much.

Yes the standard Mohare Danda community trek is 5 days including transport. 1 Banskharka 2 Nangi 3 Mohare Danda 4 Tikot. No permits if following this route. 1 and 4 in homestays, 2 and 3 at the community lodge. Carry food for lunches.
Take the hourly Pokhara Beni bus, then local taxi or walk to Galeshwar, the trailhead is 1 km past Galeshwar.

Thanks a lot! Is it necessary to book the homestays in advance?

Also still looking for someone else who has done this trek :)

No, independent hikers never book accomodation on the treks in Nepal.

Hi :-)

I have done the Mohare Danda trek October 2016. We used 6 days for this trek. But it can be done in 5 days. We planned to use 5 days, but since I became a bit sick (a cold and probably a bit because of the height), we decided that we needed to split the day from Mohare Danda to Tikot into two days. It is a good trek. :-) Please remember to start early from Pokhara the first day. We started too late, so when we came to Beni by bus, it was too late to walk up to Banksharka, and we had to be driven up there (which was an experience in itself, as the road is far from good). It could be good to call in advance to Banksharka, so that they know you are coming. But this is not necessary.

BTW: Willelmspie wrote that you need to carry food for lunch. This is necessary for the day going from Nangi to Mohare Danda. But you do not need to carry lunch on the 2nd and 4th day. I am a bit unsure about the 5th day, as we were going to Tatopani and not back to Pokhara that day. Maybe the bus normally goes to Beni hourly, but it did not the day we took the bus, cause we waited probably 2 hours on the bus station in Pokhara. We did not check the bus schedule before going, and I would recommend that you do. Or you could take a jeep all the way to Galeshwar.

Enjoy your treck :-)

Try to take the 8 am bus to Beni from the Baglung bus station in Pokhara (not the main bus station). This bus is well scheduled at each hour, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, ....
Mohare Danda to Tikot is indeed a long day, although mostly downhill. Other days are short.
On day 5, you arrive rapidly to the Jomosom Beni road, there is transport to Beni but most of it already arrives completely packed. Once in Beni, lots of transport to Pokhara.
I still think it is a better idea to carry your lunch on day 2 if you're a lone trekker (they would open the community restaurant on the way for small group). And on day 4, you reach a lodge too early for lunch, afterwards there isn't anything anymire.

No permits IF you follow the route i gave you. Well the 2 permits of you go through Ghorepani and/or Nayapul. And Tims only if you go to the Tatopani Hot Springs the last day.
