I have a question regarding bus service between Kathmandu and Chitwan. I read on the website of one of the bus companies (Greenline) that they have suspended services to Chitwan due to current road conditions from Mugling to Narayanghat.

We are visiting Nepal in late April and wish to visit Chitwan by bus from Kathmandu. I was hoping to find out more information regarding the road conditions, if any bus service currently operating between Kathmandu and Chitwan, and if so, which bus companies are providing this service.

Thanks!

Hi,
Even though Greenline may have stopped temporarily, there are numerous other tourist buses still going there. They all leave near Thamel at 6 am (was 7am before). You can buy a ticket in your hotel or in any travel agency a day before.

Yes, currently the road is blocked from 11Am to 6Pm daily for the road construction purpose. Many buses try to reach Chitwan by 11Am. Even Last week i was stuck for 4 hours for 45 mins of road journey. Or you can take Kathmandu-Bharatpur flight in case. Small micro bus is still operating bcoz they are fast and can take you to chitwan early morning.

Let's not forget the disruption and delays caused by the Muglin-Narayangadh section of the road.
