Hi Guys,
I was wondering whether any Aussies would be in Nepal in Jan / Feb of 2008 as my fiance and I are planning a trip there. We're heading there for a honeymoon after getting married in India and it would be great to catch up for a meal or drinks with anyone who might be there around the same time. We've got a trek planned to the Annapurna Sanctuary and also a rafting trip down the Kali Gandaki (if anyone wants to join us in the rafting, shoot me a private message). I know it's the middle of winter so I was wanting to hear from people who've been to those places in the winter - are the skies still clear? Is it freezing cold? What were your experiences?
Also, we're after some reviews or feedback from people who've used the Firante Trekking company to organise their trips - we're thinking of using them, but hearing from people who've used them before would go a long way towards helping us decide! It's crazy the number of companies out there that can organise trips for you...I've been quoted anything from $1550 to $2500 per person for the same trip, staying at the same hotels and doing the same activities, and all the companies purport to be eco-friendly! Some people out there are making a pile of moulah out of tourists...
Cheers!
