Any update on the weather in Pokhara and on the Annapurna Circuit? I hear the monsoon has been quite severe this year and there has been a lot of rain in Pokhara. I am heading that way in the next week and hope to do the Annapurna Circuit but, coming from Ireland, would like a change from walking in the rain!
Also...if the monsoon is loitering with intent, how bad does it get on the trail? Is it like some monsoon countries where it rains for a couple of hours and then stops? Or is it like Ireland where it just goes on and on and on...?
Any advise appreciated, thanks.

It rains for several hours a day and stops, not an all day rain. Much of the circuit is in a 'rainshadow' cast by the Himalaya so it is always drier. This would be the area from Chame or so down past Jomsom. The trail will be fine, just wait out hte rain in a lodge. Lookout for leeches.

Sometimes the rain of lower elevations can be very heave wet snow on the Thorong La, unfortunately. Big problem could be landslides on some of the temporary detour trails. These were muddy prior to the rain.
