I'm going to be arriving in Nepal next week on the 30th and will have about 4 weeks.

In Oct 2014 I attempted Annapurna, but was unable to finish because of the avalanche. I started in Chame and only reached Manang before having to return.

Ideally I'd like to go back and finish the circuit. From what I've read, most people take a jeep to Syange and start from there.

I'll probably spend 2 days in Kathmandu to start and ideally 2-4 days in Pokhara at the end and also 2 days in Chitwan on the way back to Kathmandu afterwards. So that leaves approximately 3 weeks for trekking (could be slightly flexible with a couple more days).

Is it feasible to do Syange to Muktinath (roughly 10 days) and then spend another 10 days in Mustang? Unfortunately I don't have a traveling partner so would need to find one.

So does that sound good? Basically either (a) pretty fast Annapurna + Mustang or (b) a little slower Annapurna + a bit more time in Pokhara/Chitwan?

Looks about enough time to do what you plan. Best to keep it flexible, prioritise the trek for around 2-3 weeks then use the remaining days accordingly.

There are always future return trips to complete the bucket list, no need to feel you need to rush things on this trip.

I have done AC 4 times, walking all the way from Besisahar to Nayapul or Dhampus/Phedi. Last 2 times were Dec 2012 and Jan - Feb 2016 - ie in the winter when things are much quieter. I will definitely do AC again, at some point.

I think it is a shame not to start at Besisahar, if you have the time, as you do. I would never want to spend any more time than I absolutely had to crammed into some no doubt rather knackered vehicle, especially as in this case for part of the journey from BS you will crawling along very slow, rough roads, with massive, unprotected drops to one side. No doubt some agencies etc are now selling "AC" as a short trek - in 2012, quite a few people were doing the western side by vehicle - I wondered what the point was of going to AC, if people are doing so little of it. That part (Kalopani) is one of my favourite parts, and the weather was excellent.

This is a post about some of the side trips that can be done whilst doing AC - not all are trekking type activities - there are some fabulous old Buddhist monasteries on parts of AC, for example: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/asia-indian-subcontinent/nepal/annapurna-circuit-some-side-trips?page=3#post_21093526
