Since I am very limited in time and would really love to do the ABC track, I would like to do ABC in 7 or 8 days with the following schedule:
Day 1 – Leave Pokhara in a jeep for the roadhead near Lhandruk as early as possible and then trek up to Chomrong – Long Full day
Day 2 - Chomrong to Doban– about ¾ days trek, Steeply downhill on steps, the steeply uphill to Real Sinua and then downhill again to Bamboo and slightly up to Doban
Day 3 Doban to Deurali – ¾ day steadily up
Day 4 - Deurali to MBC - -- ½ day steadily up
Day 5 -MBC – ABC
Day 6 - ABC – Doban - Full day, up early, breakfast at ABC then return downhill all the way to Doban picking your pack up at MBC when passing
Day 7 - Doban to Jhinu Danda-- Full day, first an up and over and then a pull up to Chomrong and finally down to Jhinu Danda
Day 8 – Morning at the Hot Springs and then trek back to the roadhead near Lhandruk and catch a jeep back to Pokhara (You could miss out the Hot Springs IF you are really short of time, but that would be a Big Shame)
I read that 7 days would be possible, if I skip sleeping at ABC. However, probably I would chose to go for 8 days since I really would like to see the sunrise.
Would you think this schedule is realistic? I am going with a friend. We are both in good condition and 26 and 28 in age. If not, would you recommended any alternative? I know this is short time, but we do not have more then 8 days. I personally would really like to do the ABC track if it is possible in this short period. Anyway I would like to know what your thought are on this.
Second question, we do arrive Thursday morning in Kathmandu. What is the fastest we can start the track? Would it be possible to start travel on Friday to Pokhara and start Saturday trekking? Would it be recommended to book the flight in advance or do it locally in Kathmandu?
