Hi all,

I'm going to Nepal in a couple of weeks. It's only a short trip- in my mind I had an idea of a trek over 2-3 days, something similar to the one I did in Vietnam (start at my hotel, walk up into the hills, stay in an isolated village with a local homestay family, wander back the next day via a market, walking 4-6 hours a day). However nothing like that seems to exist. Even a straightforward 1 or 2 night trek doesn't look particularly do-able.

I would be hiring a guide as I'm on my own, although doing it with others is appealing too (and cheaper, I'm all about cheap).

Was thinking Sindarijal-Chisapano-Nagarkot-Dhulikhel

Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas? Trek/ guide/ tour companies?

IF you were already planning to go to Pokhara, then the Poon Hill trek can easily be done over 2 nights (with 1-2 nights more, you can go to Tadapani and Gandruk for a great little circuit).

Chisopani & Nagarkot also doabke in 2 nights (but with big up on day 1).

When were you hoping to do this (what season)?

The best 2 days 1 night easy trek is Panchase which is very close to Pokhara. It is still authentic.
Poon Hill is 3 days 2 nights, it is very touristy.
The one you suggest above Kathmandu can last from 2 to 4 days. The first part is in a well preserved forest, then in a settled area (a bit too close to the big city Kathmandu, Nagarkot is a purely tourist resort, Dhulikhel is a small local town).

We are considering the Poon Hill short trek itinerary for late May vs. a short Everest trek (Lukla - Phakding –Namache Bazaaar-Lukla). Thoughts?

Any recommendations for an agency to book with or good teahouses to stay overnight (or to avoid)? Thank you.
