Hi! We plan to visit Darjeeling in mid-May. Request suggestions on the choice between the New Elgin hotel and the Mayfair hotel - pros and cons for both places (narrowed down to these two after surfing the net thru' travel web-sites/fora) - ambience, location (away from the crowded streets, views), staff service(read that staff at the New Elgin are snobbish), food, accommodation (bath-tubs?), travel-desk,etc for these two hotels..Thx.

I have three queries:

Firstly, I am flying into Delhi from London in a week. I arrive at about midnight and then fly out about midday the following day and I am wanting to book a budget-ish guesthouse/hotel for that night that's not too far from the airport. The Lonely Planet has just one option for the airport area (Hotel Tarra) but it is booked up for then, so I wondered if anyone may know of any other places to try?

I always take take take from this forum. Thought I will give back some info I gathered at Hampi.

Went to Hampi for the past few days and here are my thoughts and somethings that I think one must do but I didn't get to do:

1. 2 days to see Hampi is just barely enough. I think 3 days would make life a lot easier -- 2 days of intense ruin seeing and 1 day of chilling would be so much more preferred for me. Even that won't allow you to see EVERYTHING but at least you get to see most of the things…

I will be travelling at the end of this month with my wife, her mum and our 10 month old baby. What do you all think of the following itinerary and cost? this is on BB basis sharing a triple room. We are from Sri Lanka. My mother in law will stay with our baby most of the time in the hotel.

Would it be better/cheaper for us to book 2-3 star hotels online?

My girlfriend and I are planning to visit Ladakh in late June / early July, to do the Markha Valley trek or something of similar length and difficulty.
