I just came back from a trip to hyderabad and I must say it was fantastic:
- I stayed in a hotel known as Log Inn, and it is good, costed me around INR 1900 per day.
- For all food lovers, I would suggest Biryani at Paradise. It is famous all over India and it is really worth.
- Had a walk around necklace road, which is pretty good place
- Tried a cruise on a boat around the lake and it was really good
- The good part of hyderabad is, it is crowded but not like Mumbai or Bangalore
- Also tried a lunch at Ohri's, which was also good
- There are lot of places to visit in Hyderabad, and I missed some of them, because I was not interested to fill a checklist for tourist places, but was looking more for a fun
- Hyderabad is heaven for people who love to eat. There are n number of places where you can try different things
- Last but not the least, the Irani chai (tea) was a totally wonderful experience. Irani hotels were not very hygenic but I didn't bother :-)
I would suggest everybody that if you come around hyderabad, don't miss it. It is even worth of making a special trip. I would love to come here again.
Wish you all a happy and fun trip.

Truetraveller: if you do come back, why not try the Hyderabad (horse) Races ?
I had a really fun day out. It's not that I like horseracing (I don't) but that you get to meet a completely different strata of Indian society than you normally would elsewhere.
Entry is 50 rupees, presumably to keep out the riff-raff.

Dear gazhawkins,
Thanks for advice,. I would definitely try it during my next visit to Hyd.

I must Agree about Hyderabad. I visited Hyderabad just after Chennai and my expectation was very low. To my surprise Hyderabad gave me a much better experience than it's counterparts like Bangalore. People are very helpful, roads and transports are much better. More or less much cleaner..... and foods.... yes Paradise Biryani, Iranian Chai (I remember one shop in the corner, near clock tower, when coming out of Secunderabad rly station towards SP road).
Overall Hyderabad is a good place to visit but somewhat undiscovered yet.
