Hello, I would like to visit Sandakphu in the last week of February. I will be staying in Darjeeling and that plan is finalized. I just want to visit Sandakphu on the way back to my country and this is the plan I have come up with:

Day 1: Start from Darjeeling for Manebhanjan early morning and hire a jeep for Sandakphu. Reach Sandakphu and stay the night there.

Day 2: Catch the sunrise and early morning views there and shortly after breakfast, start to head back for Manebhanjan. From Manebhanjan catch a ride for Siliguri for the return trip back to Bangladesh.

Will it be possible? Any valuable input would be helpful!

Thanks.

Interesting weather in the Himalayas , including Darjeeling & Sandakphu , this winter. First snowfall in a decade in Darjeeling around Xmas , snowing now in Samdakphu.

@Aziz37

Will it be possible?

It's certainly possible. Your biggest risk is the you won't be able to see the sun rise, nor any views.

I was there in March a few years ago. There wasn't a cloud in the early morning sky, and the view of Kanchenjunga was perfect. In 3 weeks from now this year, who knows?

I was also wondering about this because of the snowfall and cloudy weather. Maybe I should cancel and visit Sandakphu sometime in March, perhaps?

March generally tends to have overcast skies, so I'm not sure if visiting now would be worth it or not! Should I postpone the trip for when the skies are clearer?

As mstep says, who can predict the weather for the day you do this?

March will be better than February; but not as good as April; and April is probably not as good as October and November. But I think you have to go when you can go. And if that means February, so be it.
