My best friend had to cancel so I am travelling alone to Northern Italy. I REALLY need some help planning my itinerary. I will be arriving 16 Feb in Delhi and departing 3 Mar from Jaipur.. and have nothing planned in between. I am very open and would like to do both tourist and local activities if possible. I have seen a lot cities that people recommend going, but not sure logistically how to plan this trip.

Any help will be appreciated

hey Nichelle,

Welcome to our country...!! that's great! The best possible option I can suggest is visit n try to book things in advance.

16th Feb - Arriving Delhi
17th - Delhi to Agra
18th - Explore Agra and try local cuisines and meet locals
19th - Come back to Delhi
20th - Explore New Delhi
21st - Delhi to Corbett (one of the best and nature lovers place, national tiger park) - 4-5hrs drive from Delhi
22nd - Explore Jungle and Safari's...
23rd - Visit Marchula (place of heaven and beautiful and next to Corbett Park itself)
24th - Corbett Park - Nainital ( Nainital - city of beautiful lakes and best time to visit these days)
25th - Explore Mountains and few other places around
26th - Visit near by temples and places like Tea Garden and stuff
27th - Come back to Delhi
28th - Leave from Delhi - Jaipur
29th - Explore Jaipur
30th - Explore Jaipur
31st - Jaipur - Pushkar
1st - Explore Pushkar
2nd - Come back to Jaipur
3rd - Flight from Jaipur.

I mean this could be possible your best itinerary and can explore a lot...
Need any assistance or any help with regards to booking or a nice travel companion surely can revert me back and will connect it accordingly.

I am from New Delhi only and a well traveled person around the globe.

Let me know if you need any help.

You already posted your query on this thread: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/forums/asia-indian-subcontinent/india/how-many-days-in-delhi-agra-and-rajasthan?page=1#post_22752663

However, here is the rough plan:
You have 16 days in total. So if we exclude the arrival & departure day, you have full 14 days.
You can do the tour like this:

Feb 16: Land in Delhi
Feb 17: Delhi
Feb 18: Delhi - Agra
Feb 19: Agra - Bundi
Feb 20: Bundi
Feb 21: Bundi - Udaipur
Feb 22: Udaipur
Feb 23: Udaipur - Jodhpur
Feb 24: Jodhpur
Feb 25: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
Feb 26: Jaisalmer
Feb 27: Jaisalmer
Feb 28: Jaislamer - Jaipur
Mar 01: Jaipur
Mar 02: Jaipur
Mar 03: Depart Jaipur

I am also a mid-40 solo femail traveller (currently in Punjab) so my general advice to you is:
1. Do not try to fit too much in. Distances are long and the logistics of travelling in India can take longer than you may expect (delays, getting transfers to airports etc). Both itineraries look reasonable but I would not try to add any more. It will depend on what you like eg heritage vs nature vs everyday living. The first itinerary looks like a little less travel but you also see less of the heritage sites in Jaipur.
2. Also, you may find that you spend a day or two under the weather. The food, busy environment and atmosphere can be both exhilarating and draining so be prepared to have an off day, at any time, especially if you are travelling alone.
3. Book ahead if possible. For a 2 week stay, air travel is much more practical due the distances involved if you can afford it (essential for Rajasthan itinerary). I have also encountered problems with my credit card being accepted here (from New Zealand).
4. Get an Indian SIM card at New Delhi airport. To your right when you enter the arrivals hall. Costs 600 rupees and gives you 1 GB data per day. (Anywhere else it can take several days to approve)This will help enormously for keeping track of emailed booking confirmations, google maps for when you get lost, local attractions, as well as provide an Indian number which helps smooth the way in many instances.
5. You will always have more things to see than you can fit in two weeks, so just put these on the list for your next visit.

Enjoy!
